About Colony Square

The Colony Square Condominiums are divided into two separate residences:
Colony House and Hanover House. Designed by the architectural firm of Jova/Daniels/Busby and completed in 1975, Colony Square Condominiums are a key component of Colony Square, a distinguished architectural development that boldly introduced the concept of the multi-use building complex to the American South.

Both Colony House and Hanover House derive their overall appearance from the renowned Unite d'Habitation in Marseilles, France, a landmark of 20th century design by the Swiss-French architect, Le Corbusier (1887-1965). Like its European inspiration, Colony and Hanover House are distinguished for their prominent use of textured poured concrete, rhythmic facade, floor-to-ceiling windows, and oversized floor plans.
